Furman University uses Microsoft Office 365 for email and calendars. You can get to Office 365 using your web browser through MyFurman.

Many prefer to use Microsoft Outlook with their Office 365 email and calendar. Below are links with details about email and calendar features available within Outlook for Windows (Outlook 2016), Outlook Web App (OWA) and Outlook for Macintosh (Outlook 2016.)

Office Professional Plus for Students, Faculty and Staff for Personal Computers

Furman users can install the latest version of the Office Professional Plus suite, as a part of our licensing agreement with Microsoft. It offers the full version of Office, free of charge, for the time the student is at Furman. Once a student graduates or professional staff leave the university, the license will deactivate, but you will be able to purchase another license from Microsoft if you wish. This suite can be installed on up to five computers. However, if you happen to get a new computer or have otherwise hit that limit, you may deauthorize a previous computer from the Software screen. If you have an older operating system, or your computer does not meet the system requirements to use the latest version, the website also has a prior version of the suite available to download. If you need Office for your Furman-owned computer, please contact the Service Center.

Office Mobile for Students

The Office Mobile apps for iOS and Android phones enable users to create and edit basic Office files, as well as edit and share (via email) files from their SkyDrive Pro account. Users can create and edit Word documents or Excel spreadsheets, as well as email and view documents, spreadsheets, and Powerpoint presentations. By setting up the app, it automatically syncs with the user’s SkyDrive Pro account; no further action is needed to do so. At this time, it is compatible only with Android phones and iPhones/iPods; the app does not have tablet or iPad functionality.
